The difference is Quality.
Our T-shirts are a cut above the rest. We use the very latest technology, a digital direct-to-garment printer which is [expensive!] capable of exact color reproduction in an infinite range of colors. The ink is injected deep into the fabric so it doesn’t fade over time. In fact, tests show less than 2% fading over 2 years of average use. That is comparable with the best screen printed T-shirts. But ours have better color reproduction. What this technical mumbo-jumbo means is that these T-shirts will last. And they will look awesome.
Eco-Friendly
Oh yes, it gets better. This is a very eco-friendly process. The inks are all water based, there is very little wastage, it’s low VOC compared to a typical screen printing operation, and yet, since the inks are cured in an oven after being injected into the fabric, there is no compromise in durability!
Cheap-T-shirts are not cheap in the long run
Sure, some other places sell one-of-a-kind custom T-shirts for as much as 10 or even 15 bucks less. But their T-shirts are essentially single use. We’ve bought them. They’re just weak. They fade away to about 50% lameness after just a few washes. The price might seem cheap for a T-shirt, but after wearing it twice, you realize all that it’s good for is as a very expensive rag for washing your car.
When it comes to T-shirts, you get what you pay for. Our T-shirts are one-of-a-kind, look great, and stay bright & clear, wash after wash. We honestly believe our T-shirts represent the best value on the market for a custom printed shirt.
Licensed apparel
All our T-shirts are licensed apparel. We are adding more titles in the coming months. We don’t have everybody signed up yet, but we’re talking to everybody and negotiating like the miserly dwarves that we are. Check back regularly to see what games have been added. We will collect them all eventually, Muhahahahaha!)
American Made
All our T-shirts are American made, right here in America, by American Apparel, a great American company located in Los Angeles California, which is actually in America. Our T-shirts are also printed in America in our American printing facility, located in America. Where do we live? You guessed it — America. Yep. Do you detect a theme here?
It’s not that we don’t like non-Americans, it’s just that they smell funny. Oh man, we are so going to get in trouble for that. We were totally kidding. Actually we do like non-Americans. In fact we tend to marry them a lot because they have cool accents and are hot.
What the deal is, is that there are a lot of folks here in a America who don’t have jobs right now. This is not funny. A lot of good people are hurting because of the economy, and manufacturing jobs, especially, are going away. This is somewhat inevitable as part of the natural churning of international economics and the increasingly global nature of business cycles, which is a multi-century trend that won’t be ending until all change stops forever which of course is impossible because the universe is clumpy and chaotic, but we digress.
The serious point we are trying to make is that one of the reasons we started this company is actually to create a little micro-economic growth. By starting a (hopefully successful) small business, we hope to prove a point and start to make a difference in some small way. You know, this country was founded by a bunch of people who were essentially entrepreneurs. And there was a time when the term “cottage industry” meant that everybody had a little business of some sort that they ran out of their modest home. Seamstress. Baker. Blacksmith. Bicycle shop repairman. Inventor of the airplane. Inventor of the light bulb. Inventor of the vaccine. You get the idea. Somehow we seem to have gotten away from that in the past 20 or 30 years, and many folks act as if they believe that if there are no jobs available, there is no way to make any money. This is not true.
We believe that the only way we’re going to permanently fix this mess, at least on the economic side, is by getting back to some of the ideals that America was built upon, by which we mean personal responsibility and entrepreneurship. We’re pretty good at that sort of thing in the US. We should concentrate on doing more of that. That’s our opinion and we’re putting our money and time where our mouth is.
If you support the idea of Americans coming up with crazy ideas and starting businesses, buy a T-shirt. Everything you do will support American people doing what Americans have always done best – -finding a way to create a living for themselves by taking an idea and running with it.
Ok enough with the soap box. Is anybody actually reading this far down? Wow, I’m impressed. Good for you. Now go work on that idea you’ve been meaning to get to for so long. Why not try it? Why not make a few calls and pitch the concept to someone who might want to work with you? We did. If you make it good for them, it could be good for you. Who knows what might happen? Maybe you could make some money together in a licensing or JV deal and help get this country back on its feet. It could happen.
